How do you interface with MSN messenger?

    I want to write a program that just changes my screenname to different things, and Im just wondering what is the code to interface with messenger.

    Doesnt matter what language, Ill figure it out from there. Thanks.

    There are various open-source MSN clients, so you could start by looking at their code and maybe contacting their developers. The one I use is AYTTM.

    MSN just tweaked their protocol. It sounds like they're not excited about having 3rd party tools/apps using their network.

    Of course they're not, they're MS. But for Linux users there's no other option, aside from running the official client through Wine or VMWare, which hogs resources.

    AYTTM still works fine on MSN, they usually update things pretty quick when the protocol changes.

    I dont want to mess with thier network, I just want to be able to change my screenname.
