How do you guys stick to your diet long-term?

    I stuck to my diet 100% with not a single cheat for a month but lately I've found myself doing mini-cheats (usually something small like putting a little ketchup on my morning eggs) more often. It's been hard the last few weeks since I'm moving soon and both of my roommates have had birthdays so it's hard to say no to going out drinking with close friends I might never see again and celebrating with the roommates.

    Progress is stalling because of it. I stuck to the diet in the sticky, stalled, dropped calories a little, stalled, added cardio, and now I'm stalling again :hs:

    When I was bulking I had more variety, I ate some of the same foods every day (chicken, shakes, etc) but was shooting more for a total number of calories and end-of-day macro ratios rather than per-meal macro ratios and I think that helped, I may go back to that.

    Honestly tiny cheat meals are no big deal unless you are preparing for Mr. O. Just do one cheat day a week instead to get it out of your system.

    I have no problem eating clean, it's just eating the same thing every day that kills me.

    I feel great about eating clean too but I've been getting cravings lately that I never got before when I was bulking and eating massive amounts of clean foods. I feel like a damn woman with all of these bird sized meals.

    I throw TONS of green veggies in on my cutting diet. very low call, good fiber and good for your health. Good filler.

    My sister is a Personal Trainer, and when I told her I was going on a diet, she said there was no such thing and told me that line pretty much exactly.

    So far so good.

    i dont see how ketchup is really going to hinder your progress unless you're trying to get crazy shredded. As long you're eating healthy and sticking to your diet for the most part, you should lean up.

    ketchup on your eggs in not cheating. Eating bullshit like fries and fastfood is cheating. If I couldn't put bbq sauce or buffalo sauce on my chicken I'd go nuts. :dunno:

    most people have trouble staying on the diet because they just jump into the diet with a total shock to the body... its better to progressively ease into it...eventually you will crave healthier items over junk food....

    i used to be a big chocoholic but after dropping it for a long while, then trying it again, it just doesnt do it for me anymore.. same for junk food chips/cookies etc.
    its like a person who eats junk food regularly, and when introduced a healthy item the taste is so bland to them..

    How can you consider "a little ketchup on my eggs" cheating? :ugh:

    If you said you had a fully loadad hamburger, then maybe I see your point.
