WEB How do you guys deal with clients who still use IE 5 ??

    I mean fuck ... shit is almost 10 years old ... do you guys still make the sites viewable by browsers that old ??

    I believe if you use transtitional XHTML that it is still viewable by all browsers.

    fuck if a computer comes with it, and they dont allow employees to d.l software... theres a chance of that happening.

    we don't develop for anything older than IE6....

    even ie6 is pretty shit.

    it lags in so many ways when it comes to javascript, css and particularily .png images.

    I made a big mistake about two years ago where I had assumed that building for w3c standards would make pages display properly in all browsers. Most of the machines in our office were viewing the site with firefox. All of our customers are corporate customers without the ability to install software like firefox. This totally backfired and people got mad. We had to spend more money to fix all this shit for IE.

    Our next project is going to be in flex so we dont have to deal with shit like that. (hopefully)

    Oh we tested it, actually now that I remember, they were on an obscure older version of IE5 while we were testing on IE6. And for some stupid reason, gzip and firewalls dont really work all the time.
