I know its a stupid question, but I've been working out for 5 months now, gained 30 pound and made big gains everywhere, but my arms haven't grown at all, they look seriously out of proportion to my decent core, why won't they grow? Im eating pretty well, everything else is growing, why not them? I don't specifically target them anymore, because you all say its a waste and im on Christopher's routine, but what does it take to make my bi's and tri's grow>?

spider curls (incline db curls) and hammer curls provide most bi gains

skullcrushers, reverse close grip bb presses, and 1 arm reverse cable pulldowns for tris

But seriously that just sounds fucking stupid. Never in my life have I done spider curls, 1 arm reverse cable pulldowns, or reverse grip close grip press. And my arms are just fine. Plus this guy has only been lifting for 5 months, which is NOTHING in terms of lifting time. Consistancy and training methods are more important than exercise selection most of the time.

So you're saying just keep at it, forget an isolation day and they'll eventually come around?

You're doing christophers routine so if I remember correctly theres a good bit of heavy pressing involved, which should be hitting your tris ok.

I've done routines with arm days and routines without them, but they continue to grow/get stronger. Then again my bis get worked a lot doing back and I do lots of tricep work and presses.

But yeah it just takes time. And if you want big arms, get big triceps.

Well isolation is great for any particular muscle although doing some tricep workouts can help out your bench, since the upper half of the rep is mostly tri. This is also why there is a sticking point because of the transition between your chest to your tris. Also triceps are 2/3's of your arm so if you want to see an increase in size of your arms, do tricep workouts, ie (skullcrushers, kick backs, pulldowns, close grip/ reverse bench, and many more...) don't be afraid of using the machines either. I've used them and they can really get a good workout for triceps. Ummm and eat lots of beef :wiggle:

why do you ask? is there something wrong in what I posted?

well I can't say I'm a HUGE, I'm 6'5'' 215 lbs. but about 5 months ago I was only 168 lbs., I've seen a lot of results from what I've been doing. Not to say the way I workout is the most effective, however, i don't think I'm doing things the wrong way. I could be wrong I guess.

because I find it funny how people that say things work for them; never have anything to show for it.

    decline db curls
