I have a this phillips system

[IMG] the speakers themselves are good

and am going to buy [IMG]
x-series av123 speakers for my new 5.1 receiver.

I want to use my old speakers for the rears and need to get an updated/clean look. Any ideas on how to do this? I want it to look as similar to the x-series as as possible

most of those mini systems have there drivers built into the cabinets, and as it looks from the small pic, you may be SOL

go to www.partsexpress.com and you just buy all your drivers there and save a ton of money DIY (talk to a tech to get x/o info)

well I've already tested it with the receiver and it seem to sound fine.
    • 2-way Bass Reflex speaker system
    • 5.25" woofer
    • 2" Tweeter with ferro fluid cooled
    • Detachable metal grilles
    • MAX Bass Port
I am just wanting to dress up the appearance of the speaker to look like the others.

edit: By the way this is the receiver http://www.amazon.com/Harman-Kardon...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1183477915&sr=1-1

Post 4,5,6 have your answer. Not even worth attempting. Good choice with AV123 btw.

It's not the money issue it's the fact I don't have the money now and I need the speakers Front center and woofer or the receiver I bought will be worthless till next month.

I say just deal with it until next month rather than spend money on something you're just going to replace unless there is a really good reason you need it now. Trust me, I know how much it sucks to wait for a piece of equipment before you can actually use your system. I had my two bookshelf speakers for about a month before I found an amp that was right for me.
