Thanks, first customer email of the day. It's nice to start the morning off with a laugh. Maybe you could have perused the Craigslist ad that clearly states what each package includes in laymen terms and their prices and acceptable payment methods. Or maybe you could have visited the website that's linked to multiple times in that same listing. Better yet you could have included something a tiny bit more specific than "HOW DO YOU CHARGE? I HAVE A MINIVAN IN WH".

Either way, I can tell I am going to absolutely LOVE talking to you later today. :ugh:

Holy fuck, the helmet heads are invading CT!

Driving back from giving a quote today I passed a house next to a dealership, out front were a few of those lawn/election signs (these aren't my typos):

    "Professional Auto Deatailing"
    "Interior Condition!"
    "Exterior Condition!"

Thanks for advancing our professional image, Jethro & Jermaine's Mud-N-Suds. I'm taking a picture tomorrow and will post, that's not their real name but if it was it'd be alot sweeter.

I hear ya on the hackers. One of the places I like to eat lunch at (Gryo House, damn fine food for a fast food place) is right across from a tote the note car lot. Some guy with his wife and kids pulls up with a truck that has a pressure washer mounted in the back. He starts spraying down the cars while his wife starts drying the off with what looked like beach towels (no soap appeared to be involved) and the kids were running all over the car lot. Got to just shake your head at shit like that. :sad2:

sounds more like mexicants. for some reason, their engrish always seems to be fucked up. like around here, I always see signs that say "Fixing Tire" I assume they do flat repair but I have no clue

Yeah, until you hear that the dealer is only paying $3 a car to have them sprayed off. and look at the bright side, you can pick that customer up and correct the damage! yay!

That's the truth. Cheap details for people who expected more will eventually become our clients.

I've been doing my research and considering trying to get into the government bids for cleaning the state's cars. But they're paying $90-$130 for a 'full detail', which is basically a complete interior (including hazmat and disinfectant), wash/spot compound/one step. I was interested until I saw the prices- happy they're getting a deal, sad I can't compete. :hs:

I found it funny when I got a flyer that had obviously been printed on a 10 yr old printer, streaked, shitty looking, low on ink, with pics of a Veyron on it, advertising $25 details :mamoru:

Stolen pictures of exotics in their ads. :ugh::rofl:

Mine are titled 'Auto & RV Detailing'. I got a call today from a guy with a stationary trailer, in a trailer park. Told me he saw just the before & after of an RV roof on my ad and now I'm set for a $550 payday next week.

    False advertising does not work.

edit* I also got 500 full color professionally printed 8x10 flyers for a little over $100. Takes money to make money- I'm sure just the printer cartridge replacement would have been half that if I did it at home. Plus 3 hours worth of printing on my Lexmark. :mamoru:

i was with you until the hazmat came in. $90-$130 wouldn't be bad if you can get it to about an hour and a half or less. Volume is always a plus. but fuck some hazmat.

People who buy cars off tote the note lots aren't people who pay for a premium level detail. :sad2:

It's much more profitable if you only dealt with washes which is why I've been considering getting into fleet business. Have to either trade the SUV for a truck or get a trailer, and a 150+ gallon tank plus reclaim.

I'm spending $500 over the next two weeks on either an extractor, steamer, or compressor and touch up gun to try and increase revenue. Each has multiple uses outside of the fair weather mobile details.

This is also true, and they're the same customers that'll bitch about permastains on their aluminum valve covers for an $80 detail. :squint:

I happen to have a barrel tank with legs, 125 gal for sale if you're anywhere close to Nashville. $125 with fittings and travel expenses if you can meet and are interested.

I'd take it but I'm in CT brobot- can we meet halfway in Atlantic City? We'll get some hookers, corndogs, rent some jetskis and shit while were there!

Theres a Tractor Supply near me, they've got the tanks and I don't have to pay 11ty dollars for shipping. Thanks anyway though, and tanks with legs FTW.

And I think I'm going to hold off on the truck until next year, I've seen alot of 5x8 enclosed trailers selling for $1500 lately.

That's my handiwork. Bring me scratches and I'll swirl over them. Win/Win.

Got any Ferrari owner referrals for me?

So here I am, writing up a service proposal and sales agreement for area RV storage facilities and I google to check my competition.

Is this guy waxing the exterior of an Escalade with SprayWay Glass Cleaner?

I got a customer with those same fucking wheels. 22", 18 fucking spokes. Absolutely hate 'em.

Easiest wheels to clean? 05+ Subaru Legacy 5 spokes, I'm in and out of those spokes like whack-a-mole.
