how do i save gif files so that they will move?

    every time i try to save a gif to my desktop all i get is one pic that doesn't do what it was doing when i saved it. just wondering. not too computer litterate.

    What are you viewing the gif with?
    As far as I know the default viewer for XP doesn't show the animation. I could be wrong, I've never really used it.

    Once you have it downloaded, open it up in your browser. File->Open and browse to the image file. It should animate there.

    If it still doesn't work post a link to an animated gif you're trying to get and myself or someone else will have a look at it.

    Second on the opening in browser. Windows' default viewer will not animate it, but Internet Explorer/Firefox/etc. will.

    i believe the defualt for windows (Windows Picture and Fax Viewer) displays GIF's.

    maybe you're just saving wrong.
