On my Sound Blaster X-Fi, there is an option to take as an input, "What Your Hear". By setting this to the "line-in", I can record anything straight into Audacity or Sound Forge. This includes anything streaming, or DVDs, or whatever.

Well, Roxio 8.0 comes with a audio recorder that can record all audio coming out of your sound card. Of course, this isnt a free option...but it works hell of alot better then audiocity...at least from my experience.

Roxio allows for level balancing, options to choose which file type youd like to save, and the quality of the file.

Yeah, thats why I generally use Sound Forge... gives a lot more flexibility, but I suppose that costs quite a bit also.
