Are you familiar with BIOS settings? Also, you spent $140 for a 9600GT?

Yes and yes. The video card has a 20 dollar MIR though, so it comes out to 120 dollars.

    :werd:

I just bought a dual slot 9600gt for 109.99-20.00 MIR :dunno:

As for the OCing, if you have to ask you're not ready to do it. Go to toms hardware and start reading.

I didn't want one of my slots being used for the dual slot card.

Cooling is worth losing the slot. Unless you must have the pci slot for something.

The dual slot one is supposed to run ~10° colder than the single slot.

And it doesn't matter a lick so long as they can both run at full load without frying themselves.

I don't know how I feel about the dual-slot coolers. On the one hand, it does seem like a good idea to send that hot air straight out of the case, but on the other hand, it reduces the expandability of the system. I think I'd rather take the heat and keep as many slots as possible.
