How do I make a share an external hdd on a home network?

    sharepoints is the ony way I've gotten it to work. Tiger won't let you share an anything other than your Home folder. Leopard will have a sharepoints-like feature built in.

    no, you can share external harddrives on 10.4

    i did it yesterday.

    you just plug in the drive, turn sharing on, and then connect to that computer like normal.

    If you have an Airport Extreme, you can share it with that as well :eek:

    Ok I've got it to work but why is that I can only access it from another computer if I enter my admin username and password? I made another account and tried to use it to login from a windows xp computer and it didn't work.

    Also, why can I not see my computer on the network using my own computer?
