How do I make a blank cd playable on dvd or on most common dvd's

    Do I make a svcd?

    I have a dvd burner but I dont have any blank dvd's. I got some avi files I want to make playable on dvd player or xbox.

    Save yourself the trouble and buy some blank DVDs?

    Once I get the blank dvd's how do i convert the avi onto the blank dvds?

    You will have to transcode and burn the movie with a program like NeroVision.

    Check the specs on your player... Some players can play the raw .avi's.

    If not VCD, or SVCD, but not all players can play them.

    videohelp.com has a lot of guides and info on this...

    lol im so glad I dont use cds or dvds anymore, so much hassle swapping discs, 1tb hdd space plus HDMI link to HDTV ftw

    I used to make music video VCDs and SVCDs all the time using Nero (I converted already before entering into Nero)... They played in every DVD player I tried. This was several years ago when DVD+Rs were ridiculously priced, now I just use DVDs for everything video related.

    VCD's worked alright on a new dvd player.

    I couldnt get my nero to burn SVCD for some reason.

    the VCD's dont work on my old XBOX

    Have you tried burning the raw .avi to a disc and try it that way?
