Hey all. I have a Toshiba P25 notebook with 1.5 GB of RAM. It came with one 512MB and I bought a 1GB stick off NewEgg about 3.5 months ago.

    KingMax 1GB from NewEgg [link]

I wanted to do a bump from 1.5GB to 2.0GB by replacing and selling off the 512mb and getting another 1GB. The 1GB has been working fine, but when I went back to NewEgg, I see that the last three reviews complain that the 1GB RAM fried after 4 months. I've had mine in for 3.5 months! :noes:

I checked System Prop. and it shows...

Does that mean it's still working? Will it drop back to 512MB if the 1GB stick stops working?

    Thanks!

    Give this a try:

I visited the link, DL'ed 3.2 for Windoze, but I'm not quite sure how to install it and run it.

I run the install.bat file and it says stuff about making a floppy boot disk. (I don't have an A: drive.) I DL'ed the .iso for Windows, mounted it and made a boot CD. I'm going to boot from that and see what happens.

UPDATE: Whoa. OK. I popped in the CD while Windoze was still running to see what was on it. The computer locked and the system noise beeped at me. I don't like that noise. A system sound from XP is like a tornado siren. So, I'm scared.

    Please advise.

I'm pretty sure this is good. It did 18 full passes in just under 9 hours with... no errors. This is good, right?

Yeah, I know, but when I put in my CD-Drive without booting it, it made my computer make a wail. I don't like that. :squint:
