Whenever I get mail, Outlook and GMail Notifier, I get this annoying beep that sounds even when I have my computer muted. I have the sound scheme set to no sound because I don't care for them anyway but still get the beep.

    1. turn down/mute the pc speaker volume control in the audio mixer
    2. you could also try disabling 'system speaker' in device manager.
    3. last resort, pull the plug on your pc speaker and/or the cable that runs from the pc speaker terminals on the motherboard to the sound card.

    *edit*

you may need to unhide the pc speaker slider in windows mixer.

options->properties. select playback, scroll down and check off 'PC speaker'

Control panel > sounds and audi devices
in that panel on the sound tabs there is a program events list box
in that box select "New mail notification"
then chnge it to (none) in the drop down box
