im not a guru nor am i the greatest overhead presser ever, but heres my 2 cents

all i did for a long time was just bench, close grip bench...i did some seated military press with barbells and dumbells for awhile, btu it wasn't a major focus of my routine.

first time maxing on push press i did 245. im around 280 overhead now if not slightly higher.. although currently im forced to stop all pressing movements due to a rotator cuff impingement due to a push/pull imbalance.

but yeah, just press from all angles. triceps and shoulderz are important

I alternate seated mil, push presses, and pin presses. Find the balance between volume and strength. I do overhead work to assist my bench, so I changed my OH volume to suit.

Well, here is what I do:

Seated Military: Bar in front of head, full range of motion, bar starts at top position

Push press: Standing, bar starts at bottom position, use as much leg drive as you can.

Pin: Done in a squat rack, starting position is wherever you put the safety bars. Usually I start with the bar around my nose to forehead. Takes some of the rotator cuff out of overhead pressing, but it hard on the shoulders.

as an fyi- during the push press, some people do lean back far enough it uses more chest muscles.

"More" being relative -still nothing like a flat bench. It's still strongly a shoulder movement. I have def felt it in the upper chest before though!

I disagree with nearly everything posted above. A lot of effort to write that much and none of it is good. *shrug*
