how do i get my legs bigger?

    i workout my legs doing hack squats and V-squats. I also do deads but i still have chicken legs. do u think it's in my genes to be doomed for life with my chicken legs?

    i work my calfs too on the calf machine.


    and i play a lot of bball so i'm always running.

    no. it has nothing to do with your genes.

    your genes will not come into play until you've met and exceeded your bodys potential.

    which is a hell of a lot larger than 'chicken legs'.

    To grow muscle on ANY part of your body there are 3 variables:

    1: intensity of workout (how much weight, how many sets, how close to failure, etc)
    2: form and variety of workout (doing the lift correctly? Using correct range of motion? Doing enough lifts to work entire muscle group?)
    3: Diet. Muscle needs a caloric surplus to grow. You need to be eating more than your body requires to sustain itself.

    Now, knowing this, you need to figure out what area you're lacking in, and correct it.

    basically the lower part of my legs or the calfs need growing. When I wear shorts they look skinny as hell.

    im with you on that bro, i got chicken legs as well. quads and hams arent bad but my calves/ankles are skinny. ive been hitting them hard this winter so hopefully by summer they'll be a bit bigger.

    This is were gene-environment interaction comes in. Different people could need different stimulus to get to similar phenotypes.
    You can do like Arnold did for his calves, which is stimulating it all the time and working on it a lot.

    I kinda feel like puking and then walking down the stairs out of the gym (bout 30 stairs) is rough

    I did squats and deads for the first time in 6 months on friday and every time i stepped forward while walking the rest of the night, my front leg would collapse a little :rofl:and now my glutes are too sore for me to put socks on :hsugh: and i didn't even go heavy.

    The real answer is to get a routine from the archives or stickies (not some bullshit routine you've made up; this also means you'll be doing real squats and deadlifts), get your diet in check for your bulking goals, and stick to that routine. You're not going to build thick legs overnight. You're not doomed. You and about half of f&n will fall back on any excuse you can to get out of any real hard work or dedication. Just keep on working and you'll get there.
