I want to join the military, but the canadian military is shit. I don't want to be a peacekeeper.
i believe you need american citeznship
is that it?
i think you need to reside in the US for 5 years to become a citizen tho
you do not need to be a US citizen to serve in the military.
you will be restricted from serving in certain sensitive career fields and you have to have you citizenship before you can reenlist(I think).
Why do you think the Canadian Military is shit? I guess you haven't kept up on our "war" status in Afghanistan, or the extra 800 guys we just sent to Kandahar, for a total of like 1800 in A-Stan, and possible tours in Haiti and Cote D'Ivoire in the next few months? Gotta love ignorance.
So who the fuck do you think you are to come in here and say the CF is shit? Keep that for offtopic.
You are a shame to Canada, and what we stand for. You are the piece of shit, and hopefully will never need the support of the CF. And for the record, I don't think the U.S. military wants a piece of shit in their ranks either.
You only need to be a legal resident alien, or in other words... all you need is your green card. You don't need citizenship.
I hope you don't mind taking it up the pooper.
Probably useless to even try beating sense into you, but the Canadian army isn't and never has been doing any peacekeeping in afghanistan, its war.
I wonder how the Canadian army will change now that the conservatives won all the elections.
From the conservative platform...
- possible re formation of the canadian airborne regiment (the canadian spec ops regiment might just fill that role though)
- military allowed to open bases near major cities for fast response to emergencies
- increased budget for the military, and faster procurement for certain things that are critical to our missions (although this was to be done soon under the liberals)
The CF were already undergoing a transformation, which fearan has dicussed in another thread and unfortunately I don't know too much about. The most important thing I believe is the new joint command structure.
Not to mention the 8 or 9 canadians killed since going to Afghanistan and dozens wounded that you have shamed with that remark.
Because of the shit you said in your first post don't expect any help from me you tool.
If you're a Native Canadian and have a status card you have duel citizenship and can join.
If you're white/black/yellow and a born and raised Canadian, your options are: serve in the CF, or be a civvie.
If you wanted to badly enough, you could serve in the British army.
All citizens of commonwealth countries are eligable, but I hear you have to jump through alot of hoops.
