Kill explorer.exe and then click new task and open a new command dialog, delete from in there :) IF you don't get what I mean say so and ill type this out a bit more :)

I recommend you give the program Unlocker a try as it might solve your problem.

Why install something he doesn't need?

    This should help you:
    • Press crtl+alt+delete to open task manager, in here end the task explorer.exe
    • Your start bar will disappear for a moment, task manager may also, if so press ctrl+alt+delete to bring it back up again.
    • In task manager click new tash in the dialog that appears type 'cmd'
    • In the command prompt navigate to where the file you are trying to delete is stored and remove it (do you need extended instructions for this? If so let me know)
    • Once you have deleted the file type explorer in the command prompt to get everything back to normal

Because your initial suggestion while it might work hinged upon the OP knowing exactly what you were saying and how to go about doing it. The odd's are if they are posting for help they wouldn't know what to do as it is without instructions (which you kindly posted in your second post).

Admittedly the odds are that it is explorer.exe which has the file in use; however, it could be any number of programs out there (as I have seen quite a few) and rather than have them kill every single process systematically to figure it out I suggest he download the freeware program called Unlocker which provides a gui interface that is more user friendly and will solve his problem fairly effeciently.

I was in no way try to eschew your suggestion and while rereading my original response I realize I should have suggested that had your suggestion failed to work then to try unlocker but alas I did not and by so doing felt needlessly compelled to defend my original statement.

If that doesn't work and you get desperate you could try using a copy of knoppix to get to it and delete it.
