    ...without using AirTunes?

I have a 5.1 system wired to a Yamaha receiver. I want to be able to play my iTunes list.

    Help.

I hate when I change songs using airtunes, and my AIRPORT looses connection for a split second...

    any way around this?

Optical out with a miniTOSlink cable (I think the macbook has optical) or a minijack to RCA cable.

You can just use your audio out. Just turn your system volume all the way up as well as your iTunes volume and everything will sound fine. Just make sure the equalizer in iTunes is not on or else things may sound a little off. But that's only if you already something preset on your receiver.
