I need to change my IP and I also have a linksys router...but it doesn't change my IP even if I release and renew it...I need to get it hidden so I can get back on the Torrent site that I was banned from cuz my Bittorrent was set not to share.... :slap:

Usually to get an IP change you'll need to release and turn the modem off for a while (try a few days to be safe). Is it really worth it?

Do you have Comcast? If you do, then you don't!

I've done ipconfig /release, unplug my computer 2 day before
my lease ended and 2 days after, bought a new router, nic card,
and even reformatted my computer.... Same IP.

Poxies... make friends with them, but be sure you have a good firewall,
    both software & hardware.

Change the MAC address on the WAN side of your router.

Change the MAC address in your router's settings. BAM, new IP.

If you have a dynamic ip addressed, assigned by DHCP, then all you have to do to change your ip is either change the MAC address on the NIC or router and release and renew or wait untill the lease expires and a new address is assigned to you.

Proxies are the best way to go because you only want to fool the tracker which uses HTTP protocol.

Here is a list of proxies
    http://www.stayinvisible.com/index.pl/proxy_list

If you have Internet Explorer here are the steps:
Tools>>Internet Options>>Connections Tab>>LAN Settings Button>>Use a proxy server check button>>paste the address and port of your choice of proxies.>>OK>>OK
