As I said in this http://forums.offtopic.com/showthread.php?t=1198523thread, I put Hotchkis springs in my 68 chevelle SS396 and now the front sits about 1.5"s higher than the rear.

If I put air shocks in the back and lift it up about 1-2"s how do you guys think it will handle?

P.S. Before and after pics are in the bottom of the attached thread

Don't do it. It might solve your problem but your car will bounce like hell when you hit a bump. I had them on my 67 stang for awhile before I bought new leaf springs. I hated them.

The less air that is in air shocks the softer they will be, which is crappy for handling. To stiffen them up you would have to put air them, which would raise the back of the car up again.

Not air suspension, I believe he's talking about air shocks. They are not soft, if you let air out your car will bounce. 66comet is correct.

What were the ratings for the springs you have?

If you really look at it logicaly, shock mounts were never designed to support the weight of a vehicle, some places don't sell them because of the liability risk, do it right and use air bags.
