of home interior designs using CAD?

1.) Please list what software is needed (CAD + design software)
2.) How much computing power is necessary to run the software effectively?
3.) How difficult is this to learn? I have near zero exposure to CAD, but I am decent with a few different prog languages, photoshop, general computing.

Check AutoCAD's site for system requirements.
Or try Google Sketch or CATIA or something.

CAD is very different from programming.

My brother uses a cheap program called MilkShape to build 3D stuff. Might want to look into that.

Wouldn't Maya be kinda way overkill?

I suppose it should be asked whether this is a hobby or a potential career interest. If the latter, he should start learning on the software the pros use.

    Also, check out www.cgsociety.org.
