come to think of it, i used to watch pokemon and speedracer as a kid, so i guess that's what got me into anime, but i thought of them as just cartoons at the time.

watched Sailor Moon as a kid growing up, then a friend of mine gave me the first book in the Gunnm series. After reading that entire series I decided to watch Evangelion(the series) and Akira. I'd say Evangelion led the way as far as anime is concerned, but manga got me into it.

Voltron, although it was just another cartoon to me. Fastforward to highschool and Ninja Scroll and Akira.

I grew up loving Astroboy and Sailor moon. lol. Then transformers. Rented some animes from my local movie rental and i was hooked.

I was always kind of interested by the art work more than anything, as western style cartoons like bugsbunny and such never really did it for me.

Back in 1990 my cousin got a hold of VHS recordings :)) ironic of how I acquire anime eps. today) of Akira and Urotsukidoji. I was blown away :naughty:. I've seen Voltron and Voltes 5 before, but I couldn't distinguish between cartoons prior to that, cartoons were cartoons for me back then. I've been hooked on anime ever since, and 15 years later I still try to keep up with the :cool:est titles that come out.

I was watching Thundercats, speedracer, and voltron but never knew that they were considered a different style of animation, Anime. When I was about 10 years old I started watching the original Dragon Ball and then the followup series DBZ. I also would see weird animated movies on hbo every now and then that were very serious and adult oriented, not that bullshit superman and batman are good so they never die stuff.

After that I just watched any anime that looked good. Then I got Anime on Demand and I fell in love with the shit.
