On the website i'd like to get the 15" 1.5ghz w/ the 128mb graphics card, but i dont need 80gigs with it and can save some money by going down to a 40-60gig and removing the backlit keyboard. why wont they let you remove those items?

Probably because it would cost apple more to have more options so you probably would not save much money.

It makes sense for them to have fewer models.

and also apple always tries to make the laptops like 12 in powerbook rev c

comparing to other laptop makers and prices of harddrives and other crap

the smaller hd usally removes like 50 bucks on a 2000 dollar computer
and the backlit keyboard would apple let you remove it would decrease price by 35-40

Dude thats stupid,i have th 17" power book ad the backlit keyboard is amazing, when it gets dark the keyboard automatically turns on, and the 80 gigs is a must, because all of the important software preinstalled take about 20 of the 80 gigs. Just leave it how it is or go get an ibook
