i would think with that much exercise most would not be fat considering all the cardio, high intensity and weight training they do.

    also with baseball players.

Because looking sexy doesn't help you in football, having mass does.

You need massive amounts of energy to compete at that level of intensity. Most players are strong as fuck, but choose a diet that will give them the most energy (high carbs, moderate protein, etc).

Also, having the extra mass helps prevent injuries. Bodybuilders can get down to below 4%BF because they don't have to fend off 250lb linebackers trying to knock their heads off. :nono:

I think it's all relative to what position the player is... I had a friend in college that was a wide reciever, and he was built like T.O... and that fucker would spend at least $15 at Carl's Jr. that's a ton of food for himself!! Never did abs!!!

...and look at those sumo guys... they're strong too... but yet... they have all that fat...

every position has a ratio range that most fall into, that is b/c every position does something different.

An offensive lineman isn't going to be ripped because they have to have the mass to move people around violently, and they don't have to run long distances so it is advantageous to them to be as fat as possible w/o losing their first couple steps (agility). A defensive lineman is usually the freakiest athlete on the field. These are the guys that are big and sometimes as fat as offensive lineman but they still move like linebackers (depending on the defensive scheme). Linebackers don't really have to take on an o-lineman except for in space, and they need to be able to cover a running back one on one so they usually are a little smaller than a d-lineman and a little faster.

That guy is a fucking hulk. I remember reading an article about that guy, and they said that some safteys were acctually afraid of him. Has his own personal trainer, doesn't exercise with the team, and takes a load of pills everyday. Hes one big fucker. :eek3:

I think he is down to 228 this year, probably because he has been caught juicing like 5 times, but at one point he was 260 and running a 4.4 forty. However, his ligaments never had time to catch up to his weight so he kept fucking up his knees and shit. A 260 lb guy changing direction abruptly with the knees of a 220lb guy isn't the best thing in the world.

it just depends on what position you're looking at, you won't often find a fatty running back..

    is that david boston?

but either way football is probably the most specialized sport ever, every position has specific and diffrent physical needs therefore so many diffrent physiques

Hold up, I'm not saying he's on gear or whatever. But if you're making a comment based on that picture, then you're totally off. There's a difference between a Pro BB showing a huge stomach on stage and a guy gasping for air after running a 4.x sec, 40yd. :squint:

i made the comment based on both pictures, you can see his distended abs in the front double bi pic. but still, at that level you shouldn't be sucking wind in a 40 dash. not so much that your stomach sticks out (come to think of it whenever i see someone outa breath their abs are flexed, more rib cage breathing than diaphragm breathing)

Oh he is on some shit. I would bet that he is on pretty much everything that your average pro BBer is, albeit probably in lower doses.
