uhhhh...what is so hard about those shots for you? Maybe post an example of you work for comparison?

Those just looke like pretty normal snapshots to me though.

Get a tripod, shoot in late evening. (I think I can see slight motion blur in the clouds in the 1st shot, this indicates an exposure time of 3 or 5 seconds to me.

Looks like he's adding pretty heavy vingetting in photoshop as well.

Thanks for the replies :) I guess it's the Photoshop work that i'm missing here .. it's pretty weird because the overall shot of the car is dark , and the lights and chrome grill bit looks very bright ..

To me those lights look like they're picking up nice golden evening light.

The car probably appears dark because they brought it down in levels...

Actually both the pictures look fairly dark all around.

It looks like simple underexposure to me. The first shot especially. Set your camera to manual. Turn the shutter speed dial and the aperature dial until the in-camera meter indicates that you have a "correct" exposure. Then decrease the shutter speed to half again as long, for example, going from say 1/30 of a second to 1/60 sec. This will give you one stop of underexposure. Do this again but decrease your shutter speed another step. This will give you 2 stops underexposure.

The reason I say "1 stop underexposure" is that you can acheive the same thing by decreasing the f/stop or aperature setting, however most noobs find this to be very confusing.

Read my photography EDU at the top of this forum for more info.

:mamoru: It's from a thread I made a while ago about having a colon exam. Someone said "that's got to go in your text!"

yeah yeah, be honest. It was a late night in Tijuana after a donkey show and too many tequilas, you went back to the hotel with with what you thought was an innocent seniorita named Myra, but one thing lead to another...and...well...

It ended up the next morning with you in a hammock wearing a clown mask and a toga, Myra was nowhere to be found, but a tender young poolboy named Flaco was passed out in a pile of mayonaise and shoe laces in the bathtub.

Your secret is safe with us.

I think what he is seeing is the black fade in the corners.
