Can anyone help me with this? Can it be done in garage band? I don't have garageband anymore, but I can get it if i have to.

Although an alternate solution would be amazing.

I know almost nothing about audio, but this sounds essentially impossible unless the song is recorded in some format that separates the tracks.

Maybe you can find the song in a karaoke disc?

Yeah, my friend said he could, apparently he ment only looping parts of the song without vocals to make it sound like instrumental.

I think the closest you can come is to process out anything that would be "center channel" material - anything identical between the left and right channels.

It's obviously not flawless and it will nuke any instruments that are recorded "centered" also.
