I just picked up a 92hb to use as a winter beater. It was kind of cheap so I'm happy about that. anyways, I know that this car gets stolen alot. So what would be the best way to protect the car without spending too much money?

or if your not lazy, you could just un plug some ignition plugs in the engine bay, and you wouldnt have to spend any money

I'm just too lazy to use any kind of club. The car was cheap so I wouldn't cry about it even if it gets stolen.

I'm thinking some kind of fuel cut switch. what is the hidden starter button? is it like I have to press the button and turn the key to make the car start? any more info on this?

    any more info? price?

everything suggested here is a lot of troubble. If you don't care that much about the car, then don't bother.

Civics don't usually get stolen if they look like winter beaters. Make sure you keep it looking like a winter beater, refrain from "VTAK Inside!" stickers or anything that might hint that this car has lots of $ in mods.

no mods planned except for winter tires in steelies. the car has couple of big dings with rust spots so it definitely looks like a beater. but I'm just a little worried because I know how popular civic hb is.

The bad thing about Civics is how easy it is to get to the ignition switch, it's only surrounded by plastic.

There are tint films out there that can withstand a blow from a hammer, my bud's RSX has such a tint, and he once came out to find his d/s window with three places where someone tried to break in, but couldn't break the glass. I think 3M makes it.

I saw them test this on the news.. it took 42 blows from an adult with a baseball bat before it even started to crack.. its expensive like $500 to do your whole car

Paint it camouflage so no one will see it. And when youre parking in a bad area.....close your eyes, no one will see you.

Seriously, if its a beater and looks it, dont think you have to worry about it. They wouldnt want to steal something that looks like its gonna crap out right down the street. And they wont steal it if the parts dont look reusable.
