I need to burn some fat, I have an elliptical in our home.

I've been readinga bit online and it seems like most people run about 45 minutes several times a week, I really don't have time to do that. What can I do?

I work t-w-r-f 0830 to 2030 so on work days I seriously do not have 45 minutes to dedicate, I can work out 20-30 minutes a day 7 days a week or I can do 45 mintues on sat/sun/mon and not work out at all during the work week, by the time I drive home 30 mintues, eat, take care of the dogs, sleep, get ready, drive to work 45 mintues there isn't time left.

Any options for a noobert? I guess the short question is it better to do small amounts 7 days a week or big amounts 3?

the elliptical I have will do intervals. How long a day though?

my target heart rate is like 75-95 and I can ping it up to 75 by barely getting on the fucking thing

    I work 9am to 5:30pm

Wake up around 7:30am and usually home by 6:30/7pm

I have started walking, 7km every night at 11pm to midnight. (it's the only comfortable time I could find, plus cool night).

I'm hoping this along with a controlled diet and I hope to lose some weight, with changes in at least a month.

If I don't, Im doing something totally wrong

do HIIT on the elliptical and/or a bodyweight circuit

  7. I've been doing burpees. 30 seconds, as many as you can do, then rest for 30 seconds. See how many rounds you can do...it's pretty fucking killer for a 10-15 minute workout. If it's too hard at first, do them without the jump at the end of the movement.

    try this

30 seconds at a low level of resistance (3 or so, different for machine brands)

when you get close to the 30 second mark, bump the resistance level up to like 16 or 17 and go fucking nuts for 1 minute...push hard

then back down to level 3 for 30 seconds

    ...continue for just 5 minutes
    :30 seconds easy
    :30-1:30 hard
    1:30-2 easy
    2-3 hard
    3-3:30 easy
    3:30-4:30 hard
    4:30-5 easy

(do this for the first week 3-4 times, then go to 6 minutes)

it will kick your ass, just make sure you push yourself

I'm guessing you don't know how to use HR ranges.

I think they're missunderstood and miss labeled ( i.e. fat zone, cardio zone. ). I don't use them personaly but i think it makes it easier for people that don't care enough about working out to learn all about it.

The fat zone should just have a picture of a kitchen that says "wanna lose weight? start here ->"

Specifically...Is your argument that unless it's specifc to the individual by use of karvornian formula or similar that it is a waste? Or the idea that target zones are a waste in general?
