i have teen witch on dvd, despite messing with my upscaling settings on my dvd player, i can't minimize interlacing on this dvd. when they mastered this dvd, they did it wrong
it primarily shows up when the movement has red coloring

    i have a mac
i'm thinking maybe i could rip the video with handbrake, in mp4 format
then run it through visual hub with the deinterlacing setting, outputting an mp4
then open it in imovie and make my chapters, output to idvd and burn

i'd lose the menus, but they aren't much anyways
seems like too much work to remove interlacing

you can rip it with deinterlaced using handbrake, but this will rip it to mp4/avi

wouldn't that maintain it's integrity if i kept it at a high bit rate?

Yea. A bitrate of 1500 or better looks DVD quality on a TV.
