how can i convert a VCR tape into a mov or avi file?

    is there anyway i can do this easily? i have a tape that i want to convert into a mov, avi, or mpeg file so i can see it on the computer. please help...

    write "*filename*.avi" on the tape, open your cd drive and put it in face down. when you shut the tray, the tape isn't going to fit, but that's ok. now right click on your desktop, make a new txt document. rename to "*filename*.avi", open in your favorite media player and enjoy :bigthumb:

    You need a video capture card which you can then use to capture the video to the PC
    Then you can edit and convert it to whatever format what you want.

    Well, since all you have is a VCR-quality recording, that's all you're going to get.
