the only partition that you can use to go back and forth between OSs is FAT32. otherwise, NTFS won't work. best bet would be get an external hard drive if you're looking to use files between OS's

then i would suggest reinstalling windows onto a 32GB FAT32 partition (32 is the biggest size). when i used to dual boot windows and gentoo, i had the 2 operating systems on 10 GB partitions each, then a 3rd partition that was the rest of my hard drive, then used that as a type of repository so you can save all of your files on to that and have it be accessible in either OS

there is software that will let XP read a mac-formatted partition, but I believe the bootcamp BIOS emulation blocks XP from even seeing the OSX partition.

If I reinstall OS X, would I need to install bootcamp again to be able to boot into Windows if I don't wipe out the drive?

it runs like ass on my macbook with 1gig of ram, and i dont have the cash to upgrade anytime soon.

and parallels is just too distracting to me and kind of sloppy having two menu bars (even when hiding the xp bar). i'm kind of ocd/add so i much prefer just being in one OS at a time :hs:

i just got rid of vista. hated it. i won't even consider re-installing it on my laptop until i've got 2 GB of ram and SP1 is out
