Sometimes i just don't have time or the money to eat a propper meal so I eat alot of PB&J. How bad is it to eat more than one serving of it a day? I usually put it on a bagel for the extra calories and sometimes eat it like that 1-3 times a day.

I eat 2 PB&Js at least a day when bulking. Lots of PB, Whole wheat bread, pretty caloricly dense. I can eat 2 a meal pretty easily and still be hungry a few hrs later, good stuff

as long as you're using natty pb and something without high fructose corn syrup for jelly i'd bet you're okay, especially for bulking.

Well it's really bad, you should only eat it if you're dity bulking. You should drink bleach when dirty bulking too, it'll clean your diet up a little.

skippy makes natural peanut butter, so does smuckers. use those instead, they're not much more expensive if at all than regular.

ingredients should read : "peanuts, oil" or something like that.

It's fine. It's such a miniscule amount it really doesn't matter.

FWIW the Skippy "Natural" PB has palm oil and tastes just like regular PB.

gotta try out some of those natural peanut butters :coold: i just like jif because i've always been eating it. And is the amount of hydroganted oil miniscule even if you eat it more than once a day/week?

Non-detectable levels of trans-fatty acids in peanut butter.

    Sanders TH.
Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Box 7624, North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina 27695-7624, USA. [email protected]
The fatty acid composition of 11 brands of peanut butter and paste freshly prepared from roasted peanuts was analyzed with emphasis on isomeric trans-fatty acids. No trans-fatty acids were detected in any of the samples in an analytical system with a detection threshold of 0.01% of the sample weight. Hydrogenated vegetable oils are added to peanut butters at levels of 1--2% to prevent oil separation. Some hydrogenated vegetable oils are known to be sources of trans-fatty acids in the human diet. The addition of these products was not found to result in measurable amounts of trans-fatty acids in the peanut butters analyzed.
