I took a look at the nutritional info on Chili's Wings, and I don't get how they can be this bad:

Wings Over Buffalo (comes with 10 bone-in wings)

    - 1340 calories
    - 117 grams fat
    - 26 grams sat. fat
    - 4 carbs
    - 68 grams protein

Are they factoring in the dipping sauces or something else. I've purchased wing sauce, and some may be kinda higher in calories than you'd expect...1340 calories for 10 wings doesn't seem right.

I'm actually surprised the carbs are that low.

What's what makes me think they aren't counting the ranch/bleu cheese.

I still don't see how non-breaded chicken in wing sauce can have that many calories.

other sites have lowers numbers for an order of wings with the blue cheese sauce, but don't' say how many wings 1 order includes. from calorieking, it seems 1 order is 9 wings.

When the dressing is included, the numbers aren't too surprising since dressing + skin + deep fry = mega fat

    especially considering it cheese sauce

What about just regular, bone-in, non-fried wings without any type of dipping sauce?

That's the way I eat them, but most sites like that add in ranch/bleu cheese when they count the nutritional info.

    Same here.

I usually get wings from Wing Stop or Buffalo Wild wings and thought I was eating fairly clean because I don't get the fried ones, or any dipping sauce.

I know there are easier, cheaper ways to get some chicken protein, but I  wings.

sounds about right. Wings are dark meat, very fatty. the skin is very fatty and low in nutritional value, and they are deep fried in super high calorie oil.

    I'm talking about the non-battered ones. A regular wing isn't fried...is it?

    EDIT:

Here's the recipe from the Frank's Red Hot site:

    INGREDIENTS:

2 1/2 lbs. chicken wing pieces
    3/4 cup FRANK'S® REDHOT® Buffalo Wing Sauce
    2 tbsp. ranch salad dressing

    DIRECTIONS:

    1. BAKE wings in foil-lined pan at 500 °F on lowest oven rack for 20 to 25 min. until crispy, turning once.
    2. TOSS wings in Buffalo Wing Sauce and ranch dressing to coat.

I don't think that most places put ranch in the actual wing sauce, so it's mainly just baked chicken with wing sauce.

The honey chipotle crispers meal at Chili's is 2700 calories if you eat the boneless wings + taters + corn and it isn't even very much food.

I'm talking about these types of winds (from Wingstop):

    Are these fried?

Their site says they "cook" them, but they don't specify how. If those are fried...well shit. :wtc:

wings are usually fried. sauce is usually cut with butter or worse (some cheapass alternative)

homemade wings cooked in the oven, dunked in red hot are ftw though

keep in mind it takes forever to bake wings and like 3 minutes to deep fry them...

    Shit. :run:

    That is horrible, horrible news.

What if I bough a bag of frozen chicken (wing-sized) and just baked them and tossed them in wing sauce. Surely that wouldn't be bad...?
