I have a 97 savage:o I just started riding last year(motocycles I've ridden dirt bikes and shit) and thats what I ended up with to learn on and plus I got a good deal on it. It has been a good bike to learn on. Last year I put 1k miles on it and never had a bit of trouble from her. Dont expect much power cause it doesnt have it, but it will get you up to the speed limit fairly good. I'm selling mine this spring and I'm not sure what I'm getting. Ive ridden my uncle's yzf600r a good amount and like that so I might try to pick up one of those if the insurance doesnt kill me which I'm sure it will.

~edit~ If your over 6ft your gonna find it cramped. I'm 6ft and its a little cramped for me.
