host process and superfetch has stopped working

    i get these errors whenever i restart my comp. shit gets super laggy at random whenever im dling something..

    im running
    windows vista 32
    amd turion X2

    any suggestions

    go into msconfig and disable superfetch and see if that is any better.

    It's a turion so I doubt this is the case, but I'll ask anyway...is it overclocked at all?

    nah no oc. i run adaware and my anivirus regularly too

    This wouldn't be a virus problem anyway. It sounds to me like Windows is just plain broken.

    Funny how that used to be the first thing people would assume when Windows acted up; just goes to show how stable XP really was, that all of these other problems took center stage. That's how it should be, of course, but it's still amusing to think back to Win95 and how virtually every problem on it was caused by the OS itself, not by shitware.

    a lot of things can fuck up superfetch
    run memtest
    run chkdsk

    it's useless anyway, turn it off (use services.msc, not msconfig)

    edit: one more thing to check is your startup programs and drivers.
    it could be corrupted or not 100% compatible with vista.

    It's not the end of the world, just use the restore disc.

    EDIT: Backup your shite first.
