What's the advantage of buying the kit as opposed to buying a complete weapon? Or do you just like building for the sake of building.

its the easiest way to do it in california (IMHO). considering the way the assault weapon ban is written in CA, you can either buy the kits and make it compliant your self (you also get freedom to pick and choose parts), buy one in state for a jacked up price, or cross your fingers and suck the dick of an out-of-state dealer to make it CA-compliant BEFORE entering the state (expensive and most wont do it anyway).

not to mention that because of some stupid executive order that says all imported barrels have to be chopped in half pretty much every parts kit has been drying up over the last ~2 years.
    50% of 3 AR receivers = 1.5 receivers :hsughno:

i'm transferring and building one up for my dad for christmas :coold: it'll be his first AR15.
:dunno: they're listed on DSAs website for $450, enterprise has them for $350-$375

theres a local shop that opened about an hour south of me who's motto is "if its legal, we do it" :coold: they also specialize in AK and FAL building, so i'll have to run down there sometime to check out their prices and facility.

and no FAL for you :fawkd:

I thought that was him being drunk or something :o

And actually, if you sold one to your dad, you COULD sell one of them for lack of parts :mamoru:

What where's your Tantal stock from?

I'm about to grab an Interarms and since I need to have a fixed stock, I wanted to throw an OD Combloc length stock on there and keep the folder for a rainy day/move to free state.

You could probably build one for 700 bucks if you could assemble it yourself/know someone that can do it. If you need to get a smith to build and park it, probably right around 950. Still way cheaper than DSA or any other .308 MBR.

i got it like...6-8 months ago? from ohio rapid fire IIRC.

and i'm keeping it until i move out of CA, too. i believe all you need to do to swap them is take out some screws, but i might be wrong. Keesh would know.

    what he said.

my kit was $279 and receivers are like $325-$450. depending on the price that puts it to ~600-700 before a smith's fees. since i want it parked, it'll probably be close to a grand.

i might also have the barrel send out to be cut, crowned and threaded to 18" :coold:

related to that - the guy i bought the kit from said he sold a new IMBEL 18" barrel last week for $600 :eek4:

Knock out those two roll pins and then unscrew the screw in the right part of the pic and you're done. It might be tough to pull it out, its a bit easier if it's attached to the rest of the gun.
