i lost all my coolant in about 2 minutes and power steering was starting to leak. i just got it painted about 2 weeks ago. now this. although the damage isn't physically horrible, the car is a swap car. it originally came with an 8v and the body has 170k on it. although the new motor has 80k. so the cars BB value is roughly 900, and the car is probably going to be considered totalled. it's a bad day, but this car will live on. man does this suck :hs: :sadwavey:

i guess i should explain what happened...

i was goin about 45, not speeding, and some lady jets out from a grocery store parking lot and didn't even see me. luckily for me a cop was sitting right behind the lady when she hit me.

That sucks. My friend had a stock 90 jetta 2-door. It was a fun car to drive around corners and feel the inside rear tire lift.

The 16V looked pretty clean. What car you planning on next?

i took the bumper off today. the rebar is bowed and pushed all the way back to the radiator in the middle. the radiator has a huge hole in it and is cracked all over. we are going to do a cosmetic claim on the car. it will get an estimate and we will recieve the money an i'll fix it on my own.

i could never see myself parting with this car. i've put way too much money into it to just abandon it.

as far as future plans (as in next week). single rounds with a VR bumper chin spoiler. new hood, new radiator, fender and bumper. should be back on the road somewhat soon :hs:

Damn, dude, that totally sucks. :( Hope you get her back on the road better than ever, soon. :)

And I'm just curious... what colour is that? Looks black during the daytime, but the flash pics kinda make it out to be a deep charcoal grey. Looks sharp either way.

it's Black Pearl Magic. OEM color for the new GTI 337's. sometimes it's a black sometimes you can see a hint of blue/purple and sometimes a slight grey.

and an update on the situation. i got the money from insurance and the car did not get an R title. the insurance guy who came to look at it was a VW guru so he helped me out. here are the latest pics...
