the body weight snatch has been the BANE of my existance for my lfiting career(?)

for the past 3 months i get the weight over my head but couldnt hold it and would throw it forward. so today i tried hook snatch grip, and fucking got it!
    185 @ 185lb (84kg @ 84kg) :x:

funny thing i did it with a bent bar, with less than 4 hours of sleep due to club slut redhead raping me, and i took a melatonin to help me sleep..... drank some tea to wake me up. think it has to be something with the flick of the wrist at the top.

vids will be posted in this thread after work:

Awesome job! I'd love to be able to just C&J my bodweight. I'm at 185 and weigh a bit under 200.

Nice. I stopped doing snatches completely after I tweaked my shoulder doing OH squats. I'm probably going to start up again this week.

you're very flexible which is great, but there's a lot that you can do to improve your technique

and i can't believe they allow you to slam and throw weights around like that at the ymca :mamoru:

your ass is coming up in the beginning of the lift. You have to keep your ass down and your back arched. If you do this correctly, your arms wont be able to bend like they are during the pull.

When you set before the lift, push your chest up, get the back tight, ass down, and get your elbows locked facing more forward than backward. When you start the first pull, you should be brushing the bar high near your groin, but not whilst still bending over the bar. It needs to come up off the floor in a straighter line.

there are lots of things that you could do to improve form, but its hard to explain via text

you could be good for between 90 -100 with better form i would htink

I don't use a hook grip, but do you use it for plain cleans too?

works well if you have long fingers. My buddy is using it to avoid bicep stress.

definitely. it is more awkward at first than painful as i remember it.. but definitely gives you a stronger grip once used to it
