im thinking of doing an 8 week hst cycle. ive been lifting seriously about 10 months.

    stats:

    wt: 185
    ht: 5 11

    most recent numbers

    squat: 245x5 250x5 255x5 260x5 265x5
    bench: 170x5 175x5 180x5 185x5 190x5
    dead: 285x5 290x5 295x5 300x5 305x5

recently finished a 12 week program i designed for myself. it incorperated 5x5 with some isolation, a chest/tri, leg, back /bi day. i saw some pretty good strength increases.

im looking more to add mass now. do you guys think an hst cycle would be a good idea? any feedback or suggestions are welcome. thanks

5x5 full body workouts 3x a week are awfully hard to beat for mass and strength, it has worked wonders for me

werd, ive had some great gains, awsome gains in fact, but 5x5 has been a part of my workout scheme for the entire time ive been working out. i suppose i could switch back to 5x5 full body, as i jsut finished a body part split, but i am really intrigued by this hst. and while i enjoy strength gains, i want to focus on hypertrophy for a little while.

HST seems ideal for those with time constraints
