I'm not gonna go on civic forums for you (which is something you should try, I'm positive there will be writeups on bigger civic forums in the audio sections on how to do this). But, it seems most japanese cars use a combination of snaps and screws. You probably need to remove the trim around the AC controls and everything else in the center console. Most likely it just pulls straight out, and then you may have to disconnect some connectors. Just give some panels some tugs lol.

I have a 2001 Honda Civic. Right where you have the power plug. You need to pop off that cover. Underneath there, there are 2 bolts. 10mm I think. Unscrew those, and push from that brace, and the whole unit comes out. There is a better write up on www.7thgencivic.com Check them out.

'01 radio removal is different from '05. Can't remember how, but I know it is.

Check out the I.C.E. forum at 7thgencivic.com, I know they've got a DIY written up for it.
