Let's start with your age and budget, to determine if you can even pull this off or if you're just aiming for Rice.

The best upgrade for a Civic is to replace it.

I never said he should get a VW. I said the best way to upgrade a Civic is to replace it with a different car. There are no really good upgrades for a Civic, short of rebuilding the entire engine, suspension, and chassis, at which point it no longer qualifies as a Civic.

Or you can get a turbo kit for it and boost it for about 1500 all said and done with Hondata or similar chip tuning. I had a hatch that I swapped in a JDM B18C/ITR engine. Spent 5k for the front clip. K-series are now the new hotness. However, if I were to do another SOHC honda instead of a motor swap you can just turbo it for a lot less and still have a very reliable daily driver. Not to mention money left over to play with just incase something happens or you decide to rebuild the motor.

K-series is the "new hotness" because that's the only thing that swaps into a 7th-gen. At least with his (6thgen) he's got a few options for what to do.

Again - it depends on his budget. If he's expecting to run 12's with bolt-ons, he should just buy a V6 Mustang.

No because K-series is the newest platform and puts down more power stock than the b-series motors and because it uses i-vtec versus the old school vtec. K series also swaps into all platforms.

    and what do you drive?

a well tuned honda will anihilate a lot of vehicles you think are better. I guarantee it.

different drivetrains don't always mean an advantage/disadvantage. Its just requires different driving techniques.

if you're wondering, no I don't own a honda. they get stolen too much :noes:
