With my current job, it doesn't leave me much time to go to the gym anymore. It would be easier if I worked out at home. The room I will be turning into my home home gym is on the second floor of the house, and isn't very large. I would like to get a somewhat compact all in one type machine.

From what I have read on here, bowflex sucks balls. Are there any other all in one machines that are decent? I am not looking to get bigger or ripped, just want to try to stay in shape.

your cheapest bet is the Iron Gym....great for Pullups, Pushups and situps.

Get yourself a flat bench that adjusts to incline and some iron and you can do almost anythign you need to do, and you can do it for under $300 easily

Get a flat bench, a cage, and a set of used weights. You'll be able to do 99% of the exercises you want.

I'm not sure how safe I'd feel with a set of weights + bar + cage + bench on the second floor of a house. A dip/pullup station is probably your best bet. Just check for height clearance.

that's why I wanted to go with a machine. I don't think free weights and dumbells on the second floor is a good idea.

Most machines are still going to have the weight. It's just going to be in selectorized stacks.

Can you put the stuff in your garage?
