home Tibia workout?

    Anyone know of a good way to work out my shins at home? My new gym doesn't have a little machine/contraption to isolate that muscle.

    I want to start running but I get horribly bad shin splints. I was told I need to build that muscle up before I start running.

    even at the gym any way to isolate it? I was thinking of using bands but I'm not sure. I'm not a big gym guy i'm only starting to work out the way I should have my entire life and i'm learning shit as I go. thanks!

    bands are good or just do resistance stuff with a partner, that's what i used to always do... had/have chronic shin splints and several stress fractures there in the past.

    sit down with your legs out, have someone grab the top of your feet, point your toes, they give you a ton of resistance, then you bring them back up to a 90 degree angle. you can also do this at various angles too to reach other places.

    also, ice your shins... best to freeze water in mini dixie cups, then peel the cup as you go and directly ice your shins around with the ice block in the dixie cup, keep peeling the cup down as it melts

    i'd say just start running, they build up to it nicely after a while. Stretch them well before you run and after, it helps.

    If it's just really pumped muscles (mostly what people call shin splints) increasing endurance and stretching will help.

    In high school I used to be able to hang pretty long. So could my dad.
    Anyway... my bro used to tell people about me doing so... some of his friends started assuming that I hung from my toes and must have possessed long moneky like feet.:mamoru:
