I've been tossing around the idea of just taking the easy way out with an HTIB, as I am no audiophile by any means.

However, this is going to be teamed up with my Pio Kuro 5020FD....so I don't want to cheapen my setup.

Thoughts? Advice? I'm a total noob when it comes to the home theatre stuff :o

Yea piece it together, even if you can only afford to start with a receiver and your mains for the time being it will still sound 10x better with just a 2.0 or 2.1 setup than a HTIB 5.1 setup IMHO.

Find a receiver that will do what you want but don't go overkill. Spend your money on quality speakers. Check out AVSForums.com for tons of information on any receiver and speaker you can think of.

Having a setup with 2 quality main speakers > 5 crappy little satellite speakers and a shity sub. It may take you longer to complete your system but in the end it will be something that will last and continue to sound good for years to come.

Like I said...clueless. I'm not looking to break the bank by any means. I'd like to try and stay under 1500, but I am not sure how realistic that is.

I just picked up 2 Jamo E680 towers, and a Jamo S60CEN for the center for $350 shipped. I can honestly say they are the best $350 I have ever spent. Very clear, and detailed but not overwhelming highs. Low end could be a bit more but they still reproduce very accurate bass.

They must of sold out of the E680's but they have 4 E660 towers and a S60cen for $380 shipped. Add a Elemental Designs sub or other of your choice and it would be a pretty decent setup for very little money.

A nice system for around $1300 would be the Klipsch quintets, Klipsch sub-12, and the Yamaha 565. It sounds really decent for the price a lot better then HTIB

HTIB's always suck. Stick with a piece together. Do NOT skimp on the amp.
