Okay, I've had this 8 inch 100 watt Sony powered sub hooked up to my receiver, but I can only hook it up through the front speakers doing the speaker wire thing (if you know what I mean). The sub cable I had didn't seem to give any signal from the receiver to the sub. I'm pretty sure the receiver can use the powered sub since it has the plug in the back for it. Any ideas on why this isn't working??

For reference my receiver is a Technics SA-DX940 and the Sub is a 100 watt 8 inch Sony.

Thanks in advance for the help.

You might need to turn the sub output on in the settings on your receiver. I think I had to do that with my Yamaha..

On many recievers you have to go into the menue system and turn on the sub output. They oalso give you options about crossover settings and what not. Check your manual, they're all different.
