Well I recieved some bad news the other day my house in vancouver was broken into and all my stuff was stolen. So Im shopping for a new home theater setup and Im not sure what speakers I should get. I need a new receiver, dvd player, cd player, center, fronts, surrounds, subs. I like floor standing speakers for the fronts because I really like cranking the tunes from time to time too. My friends recommended Klipsch speakers and a yamaha for a receiver. I had Polks and I really liked the sound quality. But please give me some good recommendations, I'd like to keep it under 10,000 for the whole setup.

Good call on the Yamaha and Klipsch, that's exaclty what I would do if I were getting all new gear. I actually have a Yamaha RX-V1600 receiverand LOVE it, I would love to pair it up with Klipsch Reference series speakers, but only have Polk R series right now. The Klipsch are so efficient you won't need a ton of power for them to get hella loud. But for the sub, you can't go wrong with an SVS or HSU sub, I just ordered a SVS 20-39PC+ cylinder sub and it should be in tommorrow... I'm just scared it will break stuff when I turn it up hahahah... Both will sound amazing, and not break the bank. If you have the room, get a projector, if not then get a nice LCD or DLP tv, and for a DVD player, get the new Oppo 1080p upscaling player.

Have you listened to Klipsch? The Klipsch horn sound isn't for everyone. Make sure you listen to as many products beofre you buy. I ended up maxing out one of my cards taking home a bunch of different brands and listening to them at home for a couple weeks then returning the ones I didnt like.

Honestly thats what I supect too. Oh well hopefully i can get paid back alot of my money so I can buy new shit and pocket the rest. I'll be sitting quite pretty after I collect insurance and when I sell the house. Its paid for and its worth close to double what I paid for it.
