Maybe they should makes kids carry around their books by a string, because they could hide a lot of guns in their backpack.

I have seen the one where he walked into the room. I'm a teacher and you know how far "left" most of the folks in my line of work are...

So the other day an older guy that has worked in this High School for a long time comes out on hall duty and tells me about a video he just watched that had a kid carrying so-and-so many guns. The other chemistry teacher (retired non-com. Was in nukes for years, and did ALOT of time in Vietnam) started to laugh.

The older gent thinks we don't believe him, so he goes into this big story about the vid. I tell him I've seen it. Then I proceed to tell him that I have a holster that conceals my pistol in my waistband. He starts to say something, and I stop him by saying, "yes, even with my shirt tucked in".

Started my day off pretty good. ;)

Famous last words. Spoken right before you walk through the metal detectors. :)

We just got ours this year. Thanks to a thug that went to lunch, broke into a house, and came back to school. Evidentally he'd been doing that for a while. He didn't even go to this school. I love the knee-jerk reactions of local politicians. ;)

when you're a police officer the metal detectors don't really apply to you.

    no.

but I did once carry an AR-15 into a school on a sling, then again there was a report of a kid with a gun. ended up being bogus, but was excellent building clearing training, as well as dealing with a bunch of smart ass high schoolers training.

We (cops and teachers) got the last laugh when the yuppie smart asses had to sit in the gym for 4 hours, not allowed to leave until we were done.
