Maybe it's just me but I don't like to broadcast I'm a gun fanatic. I keep that shit on the DL. Might be a good t-shirt to wear to a match or the range but not much other than that.
I don't have any problem letting people know I like firearms. Maybe they'll realize that gun owners are normal people.
with a shirt like that?
Not wearing that shirt. I was talking in general.
They'd probably look at me and see another VT shooter.
meh, not a fan
Are you azn?
qtf. other than my friends (w/ guns) and family, i keep my guns to myself. 98% of people would see my guns and think they're "machine guns" because they don't know jack about guns. last thing i want is an ATF raid because they heard it through the grape vine that i have machine guns. plus i live 1/2mile from campus (off-campus) and thats probably to close for comfort for people.
Same here, and that's why I try to stay away from this subforum as much as possible. I don't want to be like some of the others here
Why yes I am. We all look the same.
it would be more normal than wearing a shirt like this:
I wore that shirt to class today. I almost felt obligated to after doing an activity last thursday to see some of the demographics in our class. People who have done something moved to one side of the room while people who do not fit that description moved to the other side. The majority weren't too bad: democrat, been to Canada, served in the military, husker fan, drink green tea, ate steak recently, have a facebook page, speak another language, OWN A GUN. I was grinning like an idiot when he said that one because I could feel the awkwardness building in the room. so that's why I wore the shirt today... After we finished we had time to spare so he asked if anybody wanted to waste the last 19 minutes in class to talk about something. One old fart said something about wanting to ask the gun owners some questions but we were dismissed and I didn't pursue it any further. Today in the same class before we actually started there was a short talk about some people wanting to arm professors. I didn't feel like speaking up but I thought it was odd that in a Critical Reasoning class the idea was instantly labeled by the prof as being "stupid."
A better choice of words would have been "unnecessary." Of all people to arm, why the professors? Any reasoning behind it? He might have viewed it as an attempt to get a gun in the hands of as many people as possible, which is unnecessary without reason.
I'm the same way.
I wear those on a regular basis.
well one person brought up a prof in on of his classes at another campus that started crying for no reason during class and kept it going for about 20 minutes. Other than that there wasn't any justification.
