Funny how he didn't pull the buffer away from that area and then hit it with a halogen light to prove the paint wasn't burnt or swirled. He instead blended in the whole area with several passes first and still no full sun shots.

With a single stage Lexus black paint job, you have about 6 mil of paint thickness to play with so you can get away with what he did if you don't apply a lot of pressure and then blend the area in-and remember, we haven't seen full sun shots yet, but with a base coat/clear coat paint job, you only have 1.5 to 2 mil paint thickness before you burn through the clear coat.

I foresee many very unhappy BMW owners if they follow his advice.

The funny thing is this guy is obviously experienced with a rotary, but is so far in over his head with mis-information that he can't just admit that he made it sound way too easy. After his first pass like Scott said he kept making passes to reduce the halograms he obviously had.

He called the pad dirty, and said the car had a clear, when obviously that is a single stage paint by the pad. I don't know anyone else that uses a glaze to get rid of other left over residue from a polish, that's not its purpose as he says. You could do that I suppose, but I wouldn't. I would clean the polish off with a QD before putting a glaze down if I were using a glaze. So much misinformation... and then he has the nerve to call one of the best detailers around (Sean) an idiot :hsugh:

    HAHAHA!!

Wow, that video is making my head hurt. You could see the horrible haloing before he started to polish it out.

I mean seriously, making three passes like that...most people wouldent know to do that, or want to do that.

This guy is going to make ALOT of people mad. And im sure he will call them idiots too.

Still didn't do it honestly, IMO. Personally, I just hate seeing misinformation being spread like that. Going to be a lot of unhappy M5 owners when they take a rotary to their paint without ever using one before.

I think most of those M5 owners will probibly run a rotory on their paint. Create a shit ton of halo marks, and probibly wont even recognize them, becuase they are convinced beyond the shadow of a doubt, that that is infact the best, most efficient, most perfect way to polish their paint.

Lets keep in mind, these are BMW drivers after all.
