No kidding... I am pretty sure that was a string of 150 rounds. Talk about mowing down some infantry. I wonder what caliber it shoots.

Yeah that's a 42. The MG-3 has a much slower cyclic rate of fire. And that's on the standard 50rnd belt.

I love shooting all my friends 42s and will be a serious looker for one in the coming months if I can find one at the right price.

I remember reading that the absurd cyclic rate of the MG42 was a problem in combat. It ate ammo at an alarming pace, and required frequent barrel swaps.

Good thing about the 42 is it only take 15 or so seconds to swap barrels.

Well that site is retarded because a 42 is 8mm. The MG3 is 7.62, but at that fire rate in the video. This isn't a MG-3.

:ugh: almost every modern machine gun was based off of the MG42. its a great machine, like most german machines.

Standard Belt for MG42/34 was 50 rounds, of course you can link bets  . anyway it could be an MG42 with a .308 barrell, 8mm is far too expencive to shoot like that.

IIRC, the 34s standard belt length was 75 rounds, thats what fit into the drums :o

Also, since when is 8mm more expensive then .308? Unless you are buying commercial 8mm...

yes drums were 75 rounds, but belts for MG34/42 were 50 rounds, that can be linked.
